Guardian Warranty Corporation Complaint - Terrible Warranty Company

Review by Parkhd on 2009-02-25
I purchased a used 2006 F150 from a Ford Dealership in PA last year. Last week my transmission went out after only putting 13,000 miles on it. I scheduled an appointment to take it in to a Ford dealership in Alabama. The dealership called me and informed me that Guardian was only going to pay $65 an hour labor rate. After dealing with that and coming to the conclusion that I was going to have to pay the difference in the labor rate, Guardian then said they did not authorize the dealership to tear down the transmission and they would not pay for the tear down of the transmission to find the problem. On top of all that Guardian then said they would not pay for the re-manufactured transmission and wanted to get a used transmission that had 49,000 miles on it.

I am ending up having to come out of pocket 1800 dollars because Guardian will only pay 1600 minus my 50 dollars for the deductible. I do not recommend this warranty company for anyone.
