Target Complaint - Product Discontinuation
MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA -- Target is a particularly important business in Minnesota as it had its start here and the Twin Cities community has always been very supportive and extremely loyal. Many of us (myself included) have worked for the company at one time or another. However, it has become difficult to maintain that loyalty when Target has made it clear that customer satisfaction pales in comparison to growth, profitability and image. I refer specifically to the company's never-ending elimination and replacement of brands of merchandise offered in the stores. Far too many times I have gone to Target for specific items only to find that they no longer carry them. The two primary areas seem to be Health and Beauty Aids and the grocery department. I am aware that the corporation charges their vendors for product facings and shelf placements, and I can only assume that the products lines that are dropped are those that cannot or will not pay Target's price. This is business, and Target is a very large one.
But they should keep this in mind; every time I go to Target and cannot find the brands I use, I get back in my car and drive 10 more miles to Walmart and give them my money. Walmart isn't posting a huge 4th quarter loss, are they?
