Conn's Appliances Complaint - Do Not Buy From Conn's - It's A Conn!
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- We have a GE Refrigerator/Freezer that we bought from Conn's in 2001. About 3 years ago the motherboard went out and had to be replaced. In January the refrigerator started having the same problem. I called Conn's, told them what was happening and they said they would send someone out in TWO Weeks to fix the fridge. I was losing food because the refrigerator was freezing but they said this was the soonest someone could come out. The repairman came out, looked at the serial number, and said he would order the part. I was furious. I took the whole day off. We knew what the problem was it was the same as before. He said it would be another week to 10 days before the part would be in. I told him this was unacceptable. He said that they are required to come out and look at serial numbers first to make sure it is the same refrigerator as the warranty (ridiculous). He then gave me a song and dance how he doesn't get paid for these calls. Not my problem!
I called customer service to complain and the gentleman I spoke with hung up on me. I called back and spoke to another lady who said she would have a supervisor call me. Never got that call. She also said a claim form would be forwarded to me for lost food. Haven't seen that form yet either.
One week later I called to see if the part was in and was advised it wouldn't be here for another few days. I asked when the part was ordered and they hadn't ordered the part until 3 days after the service call. I called 10 days later and the part had come in but no one had called us. One week later they finally came out to fix the refrigerator.
It took 6 weeks to get the service call done. I have never received a claim form for the lost food. I filled out the comment card I received in the mail and got a call back a few days later. When we told them our complaints he said it wasn't an unreasonable amount of time and "thank you for filling out the card" and hung up.
Every service call we have ever had from Conn's has been a nightmare (did I mention the flood we had in our house from the refrigerator being installed improperly?). We will never, ever purchase another item from Conn's. We have been good customers in the past having bought this item, a washer and dryer, a stove, and a freezer. Nothing more.
