GTAHotels.com / Rosen Centre Hotel Complaint - Bad Experience with GTAHotels.com

Review by remerling on 2009-03-01
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- We reserved a room at the Rosen Centre in Orlando through GTAHotels.com. The rate was $85 US per night plus room tax. Total charged by GTAHotels was $396 for 4 nights. When we checked in to the Rosen they wanted to swipe my credit card - the clerk said they would be charging me room tax. When I said I had already paid the room tax, the clerk told me that was incorrect. I showed her the email from GTAhotels that said all taxes were included in the $396 but she ignored me.... told me to call Reservations in the morning. Of course reservations did not want to hear it either. We have called the "24/7" customer service line at GTAhotels website and they promised to contact the hotel... no help there either. I have also put my complaint into writing at the GTAhotels website but no response there either. I would not make any hotel reservations thru them in the future, unless you want to be ripped off.

I was also very unhappy with the Rosen Center in Orlando, they were not interested in helping me, just nickel and diming me for parking... if you call $6 a day nickels and dimes.

Normally when you prebook hotels you are pre-paying the taxes... It sounds like this hotel was charging you are resort fee - those are never collected before arrival and apply to everyone no matter how you book.
