General Motors Complaint - Warranty - Wheel Barons
I own a 2006 Sierra GMC and there is only 20,000 miles on it. On January 2, I noticed a grinding noise and went to the nearest garage to have them look at it, as I didn't feel I was safe driving it. The Mechanic told me it was the rotors. The Mechanic told me they were not covered under the warranty, so they repaired it. A few days later, the same noise occurred and I went back, and was told that they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They told me to drive it for a while, and still was making the noise and I went back for the third time. When they told me again that they couldn't find anything wrong, I took it to a GMC garage. While this was all happening, and I was being told nothing could be found wrong with the truck, my warranty runs out on Jan. 27. The mechanic took my truck for a test drive and they told me it was a wheel baron, and it was not safe to drive. They also told me that these should have been good for 50,000 to 100,000 miles. My vehicle only has 20,000 miles on it. I feel as I am a female and not knowing much about vehicles, that I was only going by what mechanics were telling me. If they had told me it was a wheel baron, I would have taking it to the GMC dealer as it was under warranty.
I have receipts when I had taking it to the first garage and I only went there first as I did not feel safe driving with the noise it was making. I feel this should be covered under the warranty as I was only going by what mechanics told me.
