Sears Complaint - Rebates Are Not Honored
I purchased a freezer from Sears and was encouraged by the salesperson to take advantage of free delivery through a Sears rebate. Since the freezer was not in stock but available from the warehouse, I agreed to the delivery with the understanding that I would receive a $65 rebate. According to the rebate form, I had met all of the requirements of eligibility. The freezer was more than $299 and it was purchased between 11/06/08 and 11/21/08. After ten weeks, I had not received the rebate, so I contacted Sears Rebate Center. They informed me that I was not eligible for the rebate because they had changed the requirements and only honored that offer for one day. I am still dealing with Sears national hot line in an attempt to claim my rebate. They have promised to send me a $65 Sears gift card six weeks ago, but I have not yet received that.
I honestly believe that Sears has no intention of honoring their commitment. Their rebate practices are unethical, avoid doing business with Sears at all cost.
