Acer Complaint - Never Buy An Acer - Aspire 5050
I bought an Acer Aspire 5050 "new" from Staples. Within 2 months it had to be sent back for repair for a sound problem. Acer sent it out when it was done, except they sent it back to themselves. We went all the way to Temple, Texas in person to handle this. After I got it back, it worked ok except the sound issue was never fixed like they said. Then the hard drive went out and it had to be sent back again. It was returned with a much smaller hard drive in it. Then the CD/DVD drive went out and it was sent back AGAIN. it was returned with a different CD/DVD drive. A couple months later the computer had to be restored and now it doesn't recognize the drive at all. After contacting Acer tech support, I was told that it is no longer under warranty and they won`t even talk to me unless I pay for their tech support. Acer put down that the problem has been solved. NOT!! We have bought Acers for years and never had any problems. Now we own 3 laptops and had planned to buy 16 more for employees, but that will not happen now. Acer has gone down hill so far that I, nor anybody else I contact, will ever buy another Acer product. Acer USED to be top-of-the-line, but now I believe they are scraping the bottom of the computer list.
We are now going to unload these junk laptops and buy some from companies who make quality laptops and most of all, who will stand behind their products. I plan to make sure everybody on the internet knows how sorry Acer has become.
