Crockett and Jacobi, DDS Mesa, AZ Compliment - A Very Pleasant Surprise

Review by oldisgood on 2009-03-03
MESA, ARIZONA -- This morning my husband woke up with a swollen jaw. He said it didn't hurt a lot but we both knew it should be taken care of. In the senior 55+ complex we live in, I had attended a health fair about a month previously and Dr. Crockett, the dentist was there passing out information for his practice. He was passing out a coupon good for $50.00 off dental services. Being a good money saving wife I accepted the coupon. Because we are snowbirds, we do not have any dentist of record in Arizona so I called to see if perhaps they could get us in today. Sure, said the perky receptionist, you can come in at 10A. This is great, so we pack up and head out. We registered and then waited for our turn. I noticed that the office girls seemed to know everyone who came into the office and were just perky as could be. Soon my husband was called in and saw Dr. Jacobi. He said that it was an infection in a very old root canal done 30 years ago. He gave us a prescription for penicillin to try for 10 days and if that it is not 100% to call and they will schedule an appointment with a specialist to fix it. We want to try the meds first because we are leaving for home in a few short weeks and prefer to have any further treatment done at home.

They took several x-rays and said we could have them to take to whomever we wish for further treatment if necessary. Since I have very, very limited dental insurance I was expecting a whopper of a bill. At least $250+. To my surprise it was way under $100 plus I got to use my $50 off coupon. We have wintered in Arizona for 15 years and I have not found in that time any dentist I liked or could afford. Ten years ago I was charged $180+ for a cleaning from one dentist.

I think I will start using this dental practice as they seem to genuinely like to be of service to their patients.
