Charter Communications Complaint - Charter Has A New Way To Keep Your Money
RENO, NEVADA -- After using Charter cable services for the past 3 years I decided to switch from Cable to DirecTV service. I had the dish installed and activated and then called charter to disconnect the cable service. They came to my home and disconnected the cable and I returned the HD receiver I had to them. Per my records and theirs I should have about $75.00 due me in a refund for the unused portion of the month in which I disconnected the service. Much to my dismay I am told to return the cable modem and second receiver shown on my account. You guessed it I have never had a second receiver or a cable modem. I own only one TV and since I worked for a large ISP as a Internet Security Engineer I naturally get my Internet service from my own company. It appears no amount of discussion with this company will get them to see the light and refund my money.
Next step the formal complaints to the franchise authorities and whatever others who will listen. They also say refunds when they do give them take 6-8 weeks which I find unreasonable.
