Ashley Furniture Complaint - Broken Promises - TV Entertainment Stand
GALVESTON, TEXAS -- My husband and I visited the showroom store in Houston, TX. We were greeted by a very nice sales person and she showed us the TV entertainment stands. We found exactly what we were looking for and the price was great. We did not realize that they were having a sale at that time. Great timing on our part. We decided to have the piece delivered and were told that it would be delivered within 3 weeks from date of purchase. Three weeks came and we did not hear from the company. I called the store and was told our sales person was not working today and to call back the next day.
When I spoke to her I was advised that the delivery will not be for another 3 weeks. I told her this was unacceptable and find out why the delay. She said there would be nothing she could do and advised me to call back and ask for the store manager. I called back and was put on hold forever. Finally switched over to voice mail. Did not receive a call back so I called again and would not go to voice mail and that I would hold.
Finally....he picked up and basically told me the same thing. They had no explanation as to why there was such a delay in the delivery of there furniture and he also told me that he cannot guarantee that the piece of furniture will be at their warehouse in 3 weeks. I finally told him to cancel the order and refund my money. He said he would have the check in the mail that day to me. Well, it is another week and no check. I spoke to him to see if the check was mailed. It was (supposedly)4 days after we spoke. I expect it to be in my mail box by today. If not I will be calling him again. I am very disappointed in the way they handle there delivery procedures.
Other furniture companies in the Houston area can have delivery same day or you set up the delivery with your salesperson at the showroom before leaving the store. I am sorry to say that I will not be doing any business with Ashley Furniture and I have told my friends and co workers of our dilemma and they will not be visiting there showroom. Living in Galveston TX there are a lot of families that are needing new furniture due to Hurricane Ike. Ashley Furniture lost a lot of business.
