DirecTV Inc Complaint - Moving Service
VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON -- I had been a satisfied customer (except for the price) until I notified Direct TV of our move on Feb 10, and requested installation of a new dish as soon as possible. I was told there was no installation service available until MARCH 17---more than 30 days out. The last date it was used at the old house was Feb 25, today is March 7. Customer service people tell me they put their installation resources into new customers, leaving current customers out in the cold. Moving service is advertised to be free. We are still in a contract-so they know a customer will not drop the service for fear of the early termination fee. I called around to independent agents and they would be happy to come out--around 85.00 to come, and 55.00 for each half hour. Because this is an older house there may be a need for new cable, so that could add up real fast.
I had considered calling Comcast to have some service, but they charge 54.00 per month for basic cable, a 30.00 install fee to come out, and 17.00 for any additional television set. So, we are stuck.
