Domestications Complaint - Lousy Customer Service
I've been doing occasional online shopping with Domestications for at least the last ten years. The merchandise has been well made, correctly sized, and reasonably priced.
Never had a reason to complain until now. I recently ordered a comforter set, and received it with lightening speed, but after unpacking the comforter, I laid it out on the bed and was appalled at the size! I reread the "Queen" tag. which is what I ordered, along with the bedskirt and shams package, but this comforter didn't even drape over the sides of the mattress, as depicted in the online catalog so it must be a full size with a queen size tag!
I wrote to the customer service asking how I can possibly exchange the comforter ONLY for the appropriate size, and received a response with identical information as one would find in the customer service Q&A section of the website. Plus bedskirt AND shams would need to be returned, even though they fit just fine.
What's more, If I returned the comforter set I have to pay return shipping - by the way, shipping costs with Domestications are awfully high and something new - a separate service charge of $1.95 on all orders. Maybe its just me, ... but most businesses I purchases online from provide free shipping on returns- especially when its the fault of the business sending the wrong size, color, etc.
Furthermore, customer services has no personalization or willingness to make right the business's mistake here, just reiterating their return policies. I'm offended, and felt as if I were being played a fool.
In my opinion Quality, guarantee, AND customer service with Domestications has gone down hill, and I'll ever purchase ANYTHING from them again!
