Rockland Toyota Complaint - Decieving service. - 2000 Celica

Review by Anonymous on 2004-03-11
BLAUVELT, NEW YORK -- In June 2000, I was excited to purchase a gorgeous new Celica. 2 days later after bringing it home I found a rust spot next to the rear fender. Very disappointed I brought my brand new car in to be fixed. When it returned to my possesion a week later, I reviewed the paint job finding a rust spot next to the front bumper also. Back in to Rockland Toyota to their body shop. Since these two incidents this car has been back to Rockland Toyota's body shop 4 times for these same two problems, with another appointment on the way. The service manger expressed each an every time how the job needed to be done right(since each and every time rather than stripping the paint and then repainting, the car was painted over and over and over!) Bottom Line, when you buy a new car and inspect it VERY closely. If there is a problem refuse the vehicle. And last but not least never purchase from Rockland Toyota.

you offer great advice for consumers, if the vehicle is not to your satisfaction don't take delivery, but I don't think you can blame the dealer unless there is more to the story. You live in a tough climate and if a vehicle gets even a stone chip to the metal it can start to rust almost immediatley. In the future see if you can get a bottle of touch up paint to prevent rusting for those unfortunate stone chips you are going to receive in the future. Good Luck
