Mycheckfree Complaint - Lost In The Dark - Check Free Service

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- This place is terrible! I used them for the first time as I was late on my Xcel bill, so I needed instant payment. Well, apparently the check didn't go through and my electricity was turned off. I couldn't even use the phone. Had to get my cell. After multiple transfer from Xcel and check free They said that I had insufficient funds. Not only was that not true I had $2200.00 before and after the transaction, when I spoke with the last representative he almost whispered this. With much hesitation I have emailed them my bank account. Needless to say the representative on the phone promised me that I would get a call. Somebody blew it. It was pretty obvious. I must have been transferred 10 times. I ended up paying this in cash with much humiliation. ( received late notices, but I thought this had been taken care of). Who knows if they were to try and submit this again. Even Xcel warned me about this company as it takes 10 days for this to post.

I think they should get a fine for false advertising being when you look up Xcel to pay this, it is the first site there is. Sneaky huh?

This company does not offer "instant payment". At the very least it takes two business days. And that is once you have an account set up. Why do you not use your bank's bill paying service? However, even they will typically tell you to allow five business days.

Chuck is correct, except that usually the 5 day period is for the first payment. Any payments that are done electronically after the first are usually done in a day. When you schedule a payment, the service will tell you if it is going to pay the check electronically, or if they will mail a paper check. It depends on who the payment is going to. If it's a paper check, you should, indeed, allow 5 days.

I found out that my checking account was hit with a INF and was told that I requested this 2 weeks before when I logged in to check my electric bill. I come to find out that MyCheckFree has complaints against it for Pushing payments With Out permission. I never gave them permission and I was charged twice for 2 attempts to push thru a check. I know when my SS checks are deposited and under their system I can Choose the date to take the money..It doesn't make sense that I would choose a date 3 days before any moneys were deposited. And I was not in line for a Shut Off
