Dunkin Donuts Complaint - Dunkin Donuts Marshfield Unfair To Workers
MARSHFIELD, MA 02050, MASSACHUSETTS -- The tipping policy at the Dunkin Donuts is about to change drastically.
As I understand it, starting next week the owner will no longer allow the customers to tip the wait staff.
Tipping has been a tradition at Dunkin ever since I can remember. The servers there are especially customer service oriented. For him to institute this policy now in such difficult economic times is certainly counter productive.
He will confiscate any tips that are left for the workers for himself. I know this is not legal. I hope someone can do something about this absurd practice.
I can get free coffee at work, but I stop at Dunkin in the morning to start my day with a pleasant encounter with gracious servers. I certainly won't be stopping now, since they will no longer be gracious if they lose their tips.
The product has gone downhill in the last few years, so I can certainly do without the watered down coffee and over priced baked goods.
I believe the owner has several stores in the area. He is not especially well-liked by the customers but the workers draw in the customers.
