qvc Complaint - emachine computer purchase
CLEAR LAKE, SOUTH DAKOTA -- I am extremely dissatisfied with the emachine computer I purchased from QVC. I have had nothing but trouble with it. On one occasion, a small problem resulted in the need to call emachine technical support. After each of three calls (not toll free -- I had to pay) my initial small problem got progressively worse, and finally resulted in complete computer failure due to my compliance with the instruction given by emachine personnel. I was told after this they could no longer help me and I would need to purchase an emergency boot disk or box up my entire system, pay $50.00 and shipping and emachines would send me a refurbished computer from their warehouse to replace my brand new computer! I got no help from QVC. They just suggested I try calling emachines again and talking to someone else. QVC represented this computer as having (1) technical support (which was worthless and has since been discontinued), (2) a product guarantee (which meant nothing -- even though my computer was a lemon from the beginning, the only thing the guarantee got me was the ability to get a used computer in exchange for $50+ and my new computer), (3) the option to "upgrade your PC to the fastest model on the market every 2 years for only $99!" (but small print included with the purchase paperwork informed me this was only if I purchased emachine internet service which would result in a long distance connection charge while I used my computer), (4) a minimum rebate of $90 (which I completed and sent as directed and never did receive). The printer jams each and every time I use it. I have never been able to make the scanner work at all.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
I am normally very satisfied with my purchases from QVC, but have had no help from them with this problem. I spent a lot of money on this computer and did not get what I paid for. I would like an entirely different computer system that is all QVC represents it to be.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident.
