Logan's Roadhouse Complaint - Hair in Food

Review by mistykh on 2009-03-13
STATESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA -- I love the food at Logan's Roadhouse but I just can't eat there anymore because Twice now I have found a hair in my salad. I am not one to cause trouble so the first instance I had already eaten half my salad before finding a dark black eyelash in my salad. I have natural blond hair and blonde eyelashes so I knew it wasn't mine. Then several months later I was served another salad and before I could even eat it a saw a very long black hair all wrapped up in the salad. The first time I didn't even complain I just stopped eating the salad and that was the end of it, although I could barely finish my meal. The last time I told my waiter and the manager came out and apologized and gave me my meal for free and was very nice but I gave most of my meal to my husband because I couldn't stomach it after that.

My only complaint is "Please start wearing Hairnets! I now cannot stand to eat at what used to be my favorite restaurant!

That is disgusting! I'm not a big fan of food service workers wearing gloves, but I do like it when they wear hairnets.

I would have to ask Doc but I don't think hair in food is a disease vector.. I would probably just pull it out and beech but I'd continue to eat...

Do any of you use hairnets when you cook at home..? I betcha not!~

I know, I know, you'll just say "well, it's MY hair"...

It's not my hair, old fart. I have 2 cats and a dog. It's their hair. I wash them all frequently, though.

OF I've been cooking for close to 10 years and the only time I've ever gotten hair in our food was when I didn't have it pulled up when I was cooking. Knock on wood haven't found a single red hair in our food since.

Hairnets seem like an easy solution to avoid the problem in the first place. Home's a different setting, but now that I think about it, we haven't had too much of a hair problem there.

Hair in the food is disgusting. If you had a microscope, you will see lice and other kinds microscopic organisms on that one strand of hair.

If you think about it what's a little hair between friends...?
You'll eat a pound of dirt before you die, it may as well taste good, no?

I pull my hair back into a ponytail if I am cooking for other people. Hair in food makes me wretch. To this day, even looking at a Domino's pizza box makes me sick because we had hair in our pizza on two different occasions. NASTY. Oh, and the Subway I wrote the hairnet review on? They still don't do hairnets, so I do not eat their food.

LOL MRM, I just lost my appetite for the next several days...ewwww!!

Sherdy... the hair on your pizza was heat-treated at 300 degrees...

I've never eaten a a Logan's but you stated that both times you found hair in your food it was in the salad. Is there a possibility they are purchasing those pre-made packaged salad mixes? Many restaurants serve more already prepared dishes than most customers realize. There's not that many "scratch" kitchens left.

Thanks Fartie, but the idea of it on my food is still Gack-worthy!

she must have been staring at her salad pretty intensely to see an eyelash!?!

I think the salads at Logan's come with hair, no extra charge, pretty good salads too. If you don't like the black hair, ask for another color or just shove it aside.

Ugh, I can't even eat food if I find my OWN hair in the food. Hair in food is a nightmare to me, I actually dream about it....
