Savannah Toyota Complaint - Oil Tech Fails To Tighten Drain Plug

Review by shakie on 2009-03-15
SAVANNAH, GEORGIA -- I was informed by the Service Rep on 2/21/09 that I had a massive oil leak and repairs were needed to fix the problem as my car had less than 2 quarts of oil in engine.

3 weeks go by and oil stick is full with no oil leaks whatsoever. I had an independent auto shop inspect my Toyota and stated no oil leaks exist.
The conclusion to be reached is that the oil tech was sloppy in not tightening oil pan bolt and a cover-up began!!

From now on I will change oil/filter for fear of this happening again.

I think this happens with great frequency anywhere when the tech is under a time gun to complete an oil change. A new engine costs $2000-8000 (depending) and people are willing to allow anyone strong enough to hold a wrench to change the oil in it.
