Ashley Furniture Complaint - Not Recommended - Poor Customer Service and Delivery Problems
BEAVERTON, OREGON -- We ordered furniture from the store in Beaverton, Oregon. The furniture was to be delivered within 3-6 weeks. We have received all but 1 item -- which for some reason didn't make it on the truck. When we asked the store when the last item was to be delivered, we were told it was going to be an additional week or two. This is unacceptable. When we ordered our furniture and were given a delivery date, we expected it all to arrive at that time. We understand the chair is in the Salem distribution center, but that they don't want to send a truck out our way just for that. To add insult to injury, an Ashley truck delivered furniture to our neighbor Friday afternoon. To date, we still haven't received confirmation of when our last item (a recliner) is supposed to be delivered.
I would think in this economy, Ashley's would want to please its customers. Supposedly, the company "pride's" itself on service. We are done with this store. Once we receive our last item, we will not be coming back. In addition, I will relay the Beaverton store's lack of customer service with the attorneys, secretaries, paralegals, and clients that I come in contact with here at my work place.
We truly enjoy the furniture that Ashley Furniture makes, but we do not appreciate the customer service and will be taking our business as well as any recommendations we would otherwise make elsewhere.
[update] We received a call the evening of 3/16/09 from the Beaverton store stating that they were putting a "rush" on our delivery and they were "happy" to report that they will be delivering the recliner on 3/26/09 -- yes, 10 additional days out. Incredible -- 10 more days constitutes a rush on their part. Rest assured, we will not be back.
