Legacy Liquor Complaint - The Most Expensive Liquor Store In The Colony TX

Review by Pres_boothe on 2009-03-18
THE COLONY TX, TEXAS -- I worked for this company for a year and 8 months. The manager that hired me quit after one year for 6 months we had not leadership they refused to pay the employees for closing the store so there was a 30 to 45 min. every day that my self and a fellow employee did not get paid for over the year and 8 months I was there the company hired an illegal, a manager that drinks on the job and has assaulted customers and employees. This company is a bad one any one who shops at the store or stores is supporting there illegal actions there are 3 locations one in The Colony TX, one in Farries TX and one in down town Dallas this company also owns several "One Stop" gas stations in and around the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. The owner is a man that will lie to any one to get what he wants. I also heard while I was there that they where skimming cash off the top threw an inventory scam but I have no prof of this activity. I was witness to or victim of others. When I was fired they tried to tell the unemployment office I was stealing but it came out in there investigation that I did nothing wrong. I am going to avoid this company and all "One Stop" locations and would recommend others to not spend your hard earned cash at a place that treats people so badly.

Thanks for listening and tell your friends there are far better liquor stores in The Colony Like CBS, Centinial and Goody Goody just to name a few.

"they refused to pay the employees for closing the store so there was a 30 to 45 min."

did you contact the labor board?

if you really think you were wronged, contact the labor board.

If they were skimming cash, the IRS would be interested in knowing about it.

You would think after working there for 20 months, you'd have learned how to spell liquor.

Those liquor stores in The Colony are surrounded by a large dry area. Supply and demand.

Yes I did contact the labor board. I have no proof of the skimming and yeah I have always had a spelling Problome. lol

By "expensive", is this liquor store selling bottom shelf booze at top shelf prices? Example: Kamchatka Vodka (a cheap brand) for the same price as Absolut? Or Corby's (a cheap whiskey) for the same price as Canadian Club? In many states, the retail price of hard liquor is price-controlled, meaning that a bottle of booze will sell at the same state-controlled price wherever you go. Apparently that's not the case in Texas.

So, none of this was a problem for you until you were fired?

In the state of Texas the price is affected by the state but at the Distributer level so the store it self can push the price as high as they want. Most stores in Texas buy the product then make it up by 30% some like the one I am talking about jack up the price on the most populer not best product or cheapest some times going as high as 55% above there cost.
The biggest problomes did not show up untill they hired an alcohlic for a manager and most places where not hiring in the area so I kept the job as long as I could becose I cant just think of my self I have a family that needs my help too so a bad job is better than no job.
