Wendys Complaint - Customer Service
PHOENIX, ARIZONA -- Ever since Wendy's (in Phoenix, AZ) eliminated the Greek Pita from the menu I have had nothing but horrible customer service.
I am a vegetarian and find it difficult to eat on the run. When in need, I would run to Wendy's for its fast service, location convenience, and the best fries in town. Since the pitas were taken off the menu I have tried to order a Classic Single Combo substituting cheese for the hamburger. I have been to two different stores and both treated me the same. I was told I had to pay for cheese because of inventory purposes. I don't mind paying the extra $0.30, however I don't feel this is necessary since I am not getting the hamburger. Plus, their logic of cheese inventory does not hold up when they are accounting for a hamburger I did not get with my meal. I have also ordered a plain hamburger without the hamburger but with cheese instead. They always charge me for a cheeseburger. Why is this?
During the same forementioned incident in getting a clarification about the charge for cheese, the second drive thru window attendent handed me my order and said 'Now the line is backed up' and shut the window. This I felt was even more unnessary then paying for cheese.
Perhaps I should be going to Burger King so they will make it my way. Maybe Wendy's would rather not have vegetarians frequenting their establishments. This I would like to know.
To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:
It would be fabulous if Wendy's brought back pitas or a vegetarian alternative. Not even just for vegetarians, but for those who don't eat meat for religious and cultural reasons, and due to illness/disease. Having a grilled cheese or veggie sandwich on the menu for people to have a choice would be appreciated.
Perhaps it is not cost effective to include vegetarian options (not sure why). If having alternatives is not an option, please train Wendy's staff on how to treat the customer respectfully and honestly.
I would appreciate not being treated disrespectfully because I want clarification or if I have a question on an order. When did being extremely fast with orders become a priority over valuing the customer?
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident.
