Nikon Complaint - Do Not Buy Nikon
FORT COLLINS, COLORADO -- I got a Nikon Coolpix s210 for Christmas and by mid February it broke. I was taking some pictures and went to turn my camera off and when I did so the lens retracted into the camera at an angle and would only say "lens error." I was not really concerned by this because it was so new I just planned to send it back and have it fixed under warranty. About two and a half weeks later I finally received an email saying it was not covered under warranty. I called and filed a dispute and they replied that it was still not under warranty because of "impact." I had only used it a few times and never dropped it. I was extremely careful and when it was not in the case I had to purchase separately it was strapped around my wrist. They denied that it could be their fault and told me they could fix it for the price of a brand new camera. The customer service was slow and uninformative. Fail Nikon fail.
I'm buying Canon from now on and advise anyone looking for a camera to do so as well. Grade F.
