Enterprise Rent-A-Car Complaint - Enterprise Rent A Scam!!!
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- I got into a car accident and was told by state farm I could rent with Enterprise. They picked me up 45min late and after taking me to 2 different locations they told me they had no cars so we needed to go to a 3rd location. I was late for work and asked to be taken to the train station. I was very cool and polite about this and said "I know things happen I'll try again tomorrow." The next time I returned (2 days later) the direct bill was already set up with state farm since we had 2 extra days to get everything set up. During the review of the car the girl who was getting me the vehicle told me that I was not covered if I got in an accident and gave me an entire story on how 2 days prior a lady who had wrecked her car wrecked the rental, and her insurance dropped her, and she had no way of paying! This being my first accident and car rental I was like “Oh yes I'll take the coverage!” BIG mistake! I was not told how much it was going to be, and she just kept saying "It will be $23 for the rental and your insurance covers $25 so all you have to pay is tax...Just sign and initial in all these areas and you'll be all set. I didn’t read the fine print and I initialed all 3 coverage options. 14 days later I return the car and Enterprise tells me all I owe is $494.00!!!! My own car was totaled and I had no money. Thinking it would be about $100 from the tax and one extra day I kept the car I was shocked. I spoke to the branch manager to no avail; I called corp. and waited 3-4 days for a call back. After begging for 25min the area manager said she'd refund half.
Two weeks later and still no refund. I've had to call back and they have told me they will "call me back" once more! I've inquired interest charges on the $494.00 and I'm sickened with their scams. I feel helpless and half of the coverage back is not looking so good now!
