Go Low Bids Limited Complaint - Lowest Unique Bid Auction Site
GoLow bids is an internet based auction site that offers consumers the chance to Win great prizes at VERY low prices. In this case the lowest unique bid is the winner as opposed to traditional websites such as EBay. You can pay for a membership or purchase pay as you go bids. I became a member in September and paid $19.99 a month for the platinum membership prior to upgrading to the platinum level I was a gold member.
I upgraded my membership about a week after I joined maybe less. After I upgraded they continued charging me for two memberships. When I finally figured out that they had been charging me 2 x a month for each membership I asked them to please refund my account for the 2 months they had been charging me for both. I just wanted a refund for the Gold account not both. They then told me it was my responsibility to cancel the gold account when I upgraded as they had no way to access my paypal account. They don't need to access my Paypal account to discontinue charging me they can just stop charging me.
After I explained that to them they sent me an e mail stating they would refund the Money in 10 days. That 10 days turned into a month and a half. However, I was eventually refunded my money.
On or about 11/16/08 I was the winner of an auction for a Canon Sure Shot 8mp camera. I won it for $1.44 after receiving my winning notice I complied to their requests to send a testimonial and a picture of myself to be used on the website. I then paid through PayPal and waited for my camera, and waited and waited and I'm still waiting.
I have sent numerous emails the first was just a general inquiry about tracking number and when they thought it might be delivered. They said to give it 30 days from 11/24/08 and because of the holidays maybe longer. I again contacted them on 12/31 asking them what was up with my prize. They got back to me on 1/4 and I was told someone would look into it and get back to me.
I heard nothing from them for another month and when they got back to me this time I was told they were having problems with their suppliers they assured me that it would be resolved by the end of the week and they would then provide me with a tracking number. I had by this time canceled my membership and just wanted to be done with them.
I went to their site on 2-8 to inquire yet again about my camera and was very surprised to see that they were still charging me a membership fee. I had canceled my membership at the end of January. I opened up yet another support ticket to inquire about my camera on 3/03/09 then another one on 3/06, 3/09, 3/11/09. I have received no response since 1/14/09.I went to the website and while it's still there they have no active auctions. I wonder if any of the winners got their prizes.
If any one else has been a victim of this auction site please file a complaint. I find it hard to believe I'm the only one they did this to. Thanks and sorry for the long complaint.
