U Save Car Rental Complaint - Fraud - Car Rental

Review by mr. pamps on 2009-03-24
I reserved a car in Puerto Vallarta from U-Save. When we arrived at the airport, it took over 45 minutes for the shuttle to get us to the rental lot. The agent then tried to sell us a condo and it took another 60 minutes for the car to show up -- a beat up, wires hanging out, big rock dent in the bumper jaloppy. When we returned the car a day earlier than scheduled, the tenant told me he would fax me a receipt the next day -- it never came. But they overbilled me $170.

My bank said that since I signed the blank credit card slip (which they force you to sign upon renting), there was nothing they could do. This company is fraudulent. Don't rent from them.

I've reserved a 4X4 vehicle rental based on $316 quote (including liability insurance) in Liberia, Costa Rica mid-December 2011. When arrived at the agency, I was told that additional insurance is mandatory (and my stateside collision insurance thru Visa is irrelevant)pushing my contract to $485, completely ignoring commitment made thru quote. They would not listen to any arguments telling me take it or leave it. We were stranded, since no other agencies had similar cars available. Do not give these thieves your business.
