Titans Car Rental Complaint - Fraudulent Insurance Claim

I rented a minivan in Dec 2008. There were minor problems with the rental process, but that's not why I'm writing this complaint.

They fradulently charged over $2000 CAD on my credit card stating this was an "insurance claim". When asked about providing details of the claim, they said they may have charged me incorrectly and would refund the money. That was in January 2009 when I checked my statement.

Since then, after 11 phone calls to the company and 6 phone calls to the credit card company I still have not received my credit. I have a bad feeling about this company who is trying to get away from this charge.

Secondly, there was another car rental I saw returned by another customer and clearly there was damage to the wheelbase and the tire looked misaligned. I heard them discussing they were going to rent this car out to another customer because they ran out of cars because of overbooking. We overheard the conversation and expressed our concerns about the safety of doing this, and only then did they sheepishly not rent out the car to the other customer.

Another customer came in and they were on the highway with another van and the tire completely blew up. They almost got into a serious car accident. Apparently the tire was previously punctured and a poor quality patch job was done to fix it instead of replacing the tire, probably out of cost consideration.

These are absolute facts and not made up or exaggerated, I am willing to go to court with these statements with multiple witnesses.

I wonder how a poorly run company with questionable business practices and shady ethics can be allowed to continue to run.

I have contacted multiple media agencies about these facts, I foresee them doing any investigation soon. Companies like these should not be allowed to exist in this economic climate.

Seems like fraud to me.

I suggest that you contact the Insurance Bureau of Canada. Their website is http://www.ibc.ca/

I have major complaints about this company also and consider taking legal action as well as exposing their poor business practices and horrible costumer service to the public

I did rent, return and few days later found an "error" charge on my credit card... Just read the other posts - scenario is the same.

So this company is running this scam over and over!

I went to Small Claim Court with zero-liability claim against Master Card. Master card admitted their error and returned me the money...
