Target Complaint - Target's Thieving Ways
BELLEVILLE, ILLINOIS -- This is an update from an earlier post. My bank had sent Target $30.00 for a $10.00 minimum, on March 2nd. My due date was the 11th. On the 16th of March, I received a Target call informing me I was late and hit with a $39.00 late fee. I knew this could not be the case, as the money was sent electronically by my bank. (I notified them on Feb 27-bank sent it on the 2nd) The bank even called Target, with me on another line and Target refused to remove the late fee.
Since this is the second time Target has hit me with undeserved STEEP late fees, I paid the card off, minus the $30.00 from the earlier check. I called today (3/25) to see if the $30.00 ever cleared on THEIR END. (it cleared mine on the 2nd) The lady on the phone said: "We received the $30.00 on the Sixth, and posted it on the 17th." I asked her to repeat the date, as I couldn't believe my ears. (6th-S-I-X!)
OK- DID YOU GET THAT? They had my money on the SIXTH, 5 full days BEFORE THE DUE DATE, yet didn't post it to my account until the 17th, ELEVEN DAYS after THEY RECEIVED IT, and issued me a $39.00 late fee! (all info was correct btw)
If you use a Target Red Card, be very careful. They will issue outlandish late fees, even though they have your money well before the due date. They will lie as well saying that they post payments the day after they received it. In my case, they posted 11 days later.(this isn't the first month they have done this to me) They are messing up my good name and credit standing with their slow-poke ways!
They got their last penny out of me.
