Best Buy Complaint - Incompetent, Rude, and Lazy
TACOMA, WASHINGTON -- I purchased a 22 inch monitor from Best Buy in Tacoma Washington, and had problems from day one. The colors will not mix, flesh tones look like beings from outer space, and videos even worse. The unit was meant to use on the number three computer in my LAN (for embroidery machine), but since it won't even hold a solid color desktop background, you can imagine what digital imaging is like!
I took the monitor back and was told it had to go to service department in Seattle, no store exchanges! This meant almost two weeks of waiting and monetary loss for my company. The service technician called me to say there was nothing wrong with the unit at all, and inform me a charge would be made for sending a working monitor in as faulty. I assume he is either blind or a trained rip off agent, as anyone could see the distortion that made using the thing impossible. He insisted it must be my video card or cable, both of which I checked.
I got the monitor back with a note saying they bench tested it for four hours and nothing is wrong, plugged it in.....instantly saw wavy lines running all through the screen, and a background color that was switching from blue to green in front of my eyes.
I have since replaced the thing. The store says I can bring it back and they will send it back to the geek squad, but my time is valuable, and my patience for incompetence limited.
I have contacted my legal department and was instructed to gather complaints from the internet for a class action suit. It seems Best Buy has an industry standard of poor service departments and shoddy work. [no solicitations please]
