Best Buy Complaint - Best Buy Will Knowingly Sell You Faulty Products!
WINSTON-SALEM, NORTH CAROLINA -- Last summer I was preparing for college and went to Best Buy during tax-free weekend and bought a Dell Inspiron 1525. My uncle had researched cheap decent computers for me and found this one. What no one told us though is that this particular computer has a faulty piece. EVERY Dell Inspiron 1525 has a bad hard drive. It'll work when you buy it and might work for a while. But they cannot you tell you when or if it will mess up. However I was not informed of this problem. I paid $500 for the computer and $200 for accidental drop insurance. 3 weeks later my computer refused to load. We ran a scan and found out the hard drive had crashed. We went to Best Buy and it took 10 people, including the entire Geek Squad, and a manager, to inform me that they could send me the same computer for free since it was still under manufacturer warranty. They will NOT replace the hard drive. Just give you a whole new computer. They will also NOT make the computer with a GOOD hard drive. Not even a year later, my hard drive is crashing yet again. just slower this time. Freezes up at least 2 times a day, restarts on its own. Just weird!
I now have to go BACK to Best Buy to get it traded out for yet ANOTHER faulty machine! Is it even legal to knowingly sell faulty equipment and not tell the consumer????? UGH! NEVER will I shop at Best Buy again! NEVER!
