Water heater - Complaint
First off, just let me tell you that the HMS Home Warranty is a complete rip-off. I woke up this morning to a flooded house (thanks to my broken water heater). I called my plumber who actually came to my house at 7 in the morning. He cleaned up all the water and is currently installing a new water heater. I called HMS to inquire about turning in a claim. Everything was automated, but in the end the system told me to call one particular plumbing company. It wasn't one I had ever heard of and sounded like a one man show type of deal. I called back and finally got a real person on the line. She informed me that all of the repairs and diagnosis had to be done thru their one company they are affiliated with in my town. I told her this had been an emergency and I was sure that their contractor would not have come out at 7 A.M. Also asked if she wanted me to leave the floors soaked until their contractor could have gotten to me. Of course, none of that matters to them.
So end the end they will not cover my water heater b/c I didn't use what I'm sure is like grandpa's plumb and stop. I actually used a good plumbing company. They will find any excuse to not pay. Don't waste your time with this company.
