ESBI Complaint - Kick-back from Embarq
NEVADA -- On March 29th 2009, We had received our monthly phone bill. Embarq is our service. I had noticed a charge from ESBI, and had asked my husband what it was? He also had no idea what so ever to what it was. The charge was $14.95. He had told me to call the ESBI # and ask. I did just that, an was told that my husband had signed up for this service in which was e-mail discounts on Feb 12 09. That made no sense what so ever as we have AOL. My husband stated to me WHY would he do that, having AOL!! So today my husband had called Embarq, while I was on the internet looking up ESBI. I could not believe what I had read!! My husband, while on the phone told the person he was speaking with told him that ESBI was a SCAM!! and that if Embarq was allowing, this type of 3rd party billing that they themselves were getting a piece of the action. The person responded, YES WE ARE!! He then took the $14.95 off of our bill. Then I had called ESBI told them the story, but still insisted that my husband had signed up for their so called service. I told them NEVER to put another charge on our phone bill, as well as telling them, about ALL the complaints, unauthorized charges etc. She wanted our e-mail address to send out a comfirmation # as to not billing us again.
If my husband did sign up for their service, don't you think they would have the e-mail address?? I did not give it to her, she refused to mail it to home address, but had given it to me over the phone. Please let others know about ESBI.
