Ritz Camera Informative - Ritz Camera Liquidation

Review by 32031 on 2009-04-04
Beginning today Ritz Camera will begin the liquidation of 300 stores. Don't expect huge discounts because they are using the same liquidator who did Circuit City. For those not familiar with how the liquidation works here's what they do. First all prices are raised to the MSRP. Then they apply the 'generous' 10%-15% discount. In most all cases the very same products can be purchased elsewhere for far less. Should you really have to buy something of value it's highly recommended on insisting an examination the item before paying. If they won't let you open a box then don't buy it. Lots of reports from previous liquidations where items were later found to be either defective or damaged.

All sales are final. If you find the item to be defective you will have to contact the manufacturer for warranty service.

I forgot to add earlier that 400 stores will remain open.

It's a shame to see them go.

Good info, Recon there are going to be a lot of complaints about Ritz like there was about Circuit City?

Thanks for the useful post. I too am sorry that Ritz went bankrupt. Soon there will be no local camera stores - all victums of the recession and internet competition.
