American Express Complaint - We Need A Class Action Suit Against American Express
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- My brother and I (I am the additional user) had an account with American Express since 2007 and without notification the card was cancelled. The limit was lowered from 8,000 to 6,900 in November. There were no justification. We have never been late and we paid more than the amount due. I thought AMEX was a reputable company. On 2/4/09 I had to pick up my prescription at the pharmacy and they said it was declined. I was so embarrassed. I didn't understand it due to the card was paid in full a few days before. I called AMEX and they stated that they cancelled it and needed to speak to the primary holder. Their reasoning was due to "outstanding debt" on behalf of my brother.
My brother doesn't have any debt and has very good credit. Him and I were LIVID. Some type of action needs to be done. These companies are abusing the consumer as well as the government. Let's join for a class action suit!
