Comcast Corporation Complaint - Modem Charges - High Speed Internet
PENNSYLVANIA -- I just got my April Bill. I was surprised to see that I was still being charged for internet services when I cancelled and switched to Verizon in January. WHAT? I called and they told me that I was told in January that I would be continued to be billed until I return the modem. I don't think so. No one ever told me that. They used to send out an equipment return notice with the return location on it for you to return your modem or cable boxes and thats what I was waiting for. Then she told me when I return my modem to talk to the people at the local Comcast center about the credits for those months. They MAY be able to do it there. Wouldn't a customer service representative know if a local center CAN or CANNOT apply the credits? I noticed Comcast stocks are dropping all the time, everyone switching to Verizon or wireless internet. Could they be so desperate that they take it out on people when they cancel by not informing them that they will continue to bill for a modem until it is returned? I know they are hard up because on my cable, they take away channels that they say are "free" and keep raising the rates. How hard is it to flip a switch to give a little more to keep customers.
I think Comcast is nothing more than a professional rip-off artist. Finding ways to charge more for less to save their own necks. They will be out of business soon because of sites on the internet that offer "free TV", but don't charge me for something I didn't use because of your negligence and greed.
