Sprint Complaint - Changing toll-free number without advising customer
KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE -- When I contracted for Sprint's services, I requested a toll-free number and was assured that the toll-free number I had with two previous carriers would be transferred to my Sprint account. The information and request was faxed to Sprint for confirmation. At some point in time, almost a year ago, Sprint arbitrarily changed my toll-free number without advising me. I first learned of the error when I noticed charges for an unfamiliar toll-free number on my account. Customer service representatives' advised me that so much time has passed my old number has been taken by someone else. I advised them of the severe losses I have incurred due to their error,i.e. my old toll-free number was printed on: 2,000 business cards which have been distributed, a mailing list of 800 names, 1,000 advertising flyers which were mailed at a cost of approximately $350.00, a business web site, expensive newspaper advertising. In addition, I have been billed and paid $4.00 per month for a toll-free number that I was unaware I had. They're only response was: 'we're sorry.'
I, of course, immediately changed providers and have received my final bill from Sprint in the amount of $30.58 which I am contesting.
I would like the following:
I wish them to cancel my final bill in the amount of $30.58. I feel I am entitled to at least partial reimbursement for monetary losses I sustained because of their error but, after reading other complaints, I realize I have little chance of recovering these losses.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident.
