Delta Airlines Informative - Terrible Look At The Engine Of Your Aircraft!
SOMERSET, NEW JERSEY -- I will think twice over if I would fly Delta in the future. With my video camera in my hand I just recorded an unbelievable discrepancy of the right hand engine when looking through the window. The cover panels of the engine housing has shown lot of visible cracks, and at the take off a white stream of some pressurized air or liquid nitrogen(?) has getting out right at a "T" aluminum peace which one is mounted right on the engine housing. The paint of the housing was peeling off during the flight. So I have shown that video recording to a flight attendant who also looked through the window and has seen what I recorded with my camera. Of course she already has called an another manager (lady) and they wanted me to report my observation to the pilot and put the lengthy report on a paper for further engine check-up. Because my transfer to my connecting flight was very short - only 40 minutes - we decided that the report will not be done on the timely matter.
The observation was made on April 4th 09, from San Juan to Atlanta. The time was about 4 PM. If you need more details then I will be glad to send it to you.
I am inclined mechanically and of course, therefore I was shaken off about the observation.
Many other passengers have seen it also and thae made their negative impression.
Look, I a pastor of my church and I have to care about the future of the passengers. Probably nothing is very wrong with the cracks and peeling of the paint, but it is disturbing your travelers that for sure.
