General Motors Complaint - Never Again! - GM Vehicles
Less than 8 weeks ago (Feb. 24, 2009) I purchased a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu Classic with less than 48,000 miles.
As of today the car will not start!
When I decided to purchase another vehicle I thought that I'd give Chevrolet another try, I had heard rumors that their quality had improved, so I sought to purchase a reliable used car from a local Chevrolet dealer.
I don't expect the dealership to fix the car, after all it was an 'as is' sale. And I expected that repairs would be needed at some point but not after only 8 weeks... with a 4 year old car... with less than 50,000 miles.
In my opinion this speaks volumes about the long-term quality of GM cars and their dealerships' complicity in selling poor quality cars.
My previous car was a Honda Accord... it was 17 years old... I had it for almost 5 years and not once did I never had problem like this.
If GM can't figured out how to make reliable cars; that when dealerships sell junk (regardless of whether the car is new or used) GM loses customers, then both GM and their dealerships should do us all a favor: shut down, and sell the factories and lots to manufacturers and dealers that know how to make and sell reliable cars.
Although I'm pretty much stuck with this car, I wouldn't take another GM vehicle (or any other American car for that matter) even if they were being given away.
I'd rather walk... which is exactly what I'll be doing until the car is repaired.
