AT&T Wireless Complaint - Billing For "Free Service Messages"
CLEVELAND, OHIO -- AT&T sends frequent (in my experience, several per month) of what are clearly labeled, in the subject line, "FREE" service messages. Subscribers are, in fact, charged to view these messages. In my case it costs about $0.10 to view the message, determine that the content is of no value to me, and disconnect from the service. The typical message rehashes, nearly verbatim, material that was in the printed literature that came with my service. Averaged over their subscriber base, this amounts to about $770,000 in phony charges for each of these broadcast messages.
I resent having my pocket picked by a company that is already well paid for the service it provides.
