Bob's Discount Furniture Compliment - Bob's Discount Furniture, I Had Great Customer Service Experiences With Them!
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NEW JERSEY -- Last weekend, we ordered a living room set and a dining set from Bob's store in S. Brunswick, NJ. The sales staff was professional and helpful and they did not push or annoy us. The only bad experience I have to report is regarding the delivery charges. On Saturday when we first went to the store, we were told that the delivery charges max out at $150 and since the delivery charges for the living room set we selected were about $130, we should consider getting the dining set as well because the whole set will ship for only $20 and buying it separately will have a much higher delivery charge. Next day, when we went back to the store to place the order, we were told that the delivery charge was $200. When we mentioned prior day's conversations, we were told that it was a miscommunication. Since the overall prices were reasonable and it seemed like a salesman issue, I decided to pick up some of the small furniture (like chairs) myself and the shipping went down to $130.
The delivery date provided to us was Thursday, in the three hour window of 8:30 and 11:30 in the morning. The delivery truck was at our home at 8:25 and they assembled the furniture quickly.
After the delivery truck left, my wife noticed that a small toss pillow from the swivel chair was missing. We called customer service and they said that they will order a new pillow from the manufacturer and it will be delivered directly to us.
I also received a call from the store the same day informing that the rest of the order is ready to be picked up and when I went to the store it was loaded in my car in less than 15 minutes.
Last night, we had some relatives invited for dinner and I noticed that one of the legs of the dining table had a crack. So I called Bob's customer service again and reported the problem. The customer service representative that she will order a replacement dining table for us! I was amazed and indicated that the table is fine and you could just send someone with a new leg. She replied that I called within three days of delivery so it would be much quicker for them to get me a new table. Otherwise, they will have to follow a lengthy process of sending someone to inspect the table and order a leg from the manufacturer which takes much longer. She scheduled the delivery of the replacement table for next Thursday (4/16).
Needless to say, I am very happy with their customer service and the overall experience. The prices are also reasonable. The same living set from the same brand (American Signature) is sold at-least a few hundred dollars higher elsewhere and the problems I mentioned relates to the manufacturer, not the retailer. Still, Bob's took care of me as their customer and I will recommend them to everyone.
Finally, I did not buy the goof proof warranty since I read plenty of bad reviews about it on this site and elsewhere. The sales guys try their best to sell it. But it's probably better to avoid it.
