Kona Auto Center Complaint - Brakes Repair - Chrysler Sebring 2007
KAILUA KONA, HAWAII -- My son had bought me a 2007 vehicle because I did not have one to go to work and depending on my sons to take me where ever I needed to go. So getting this car was a dream come true for me. It was not a brand new car but I did have a 3 year warranty on it. My son bought the care in 2008 with 11 thousand miles on it. He bought it in Mar. In June I noticed there was something going on with the brakes, so I took it in to the garage to have it checked out. They didn't charge me for the service and said it was only dust and that they cleaned it all out. Well, it was okay but still I didn't feel right about it. I took it in again, this time they told me that I was driving with my hand brakes up that is why there was a rubbing sound when I stepped on the brakes. I told them I was not that stupid to drive with my hand brakes up. Well, my brakes got worse, took it in for the 3rd time. I took it in in the morning, they still had not worked on it. It was almost 4pm. I called to talk with the manager, he did not answer, so I told the receptionist I wanted to talk with someone higher them the manager.
I believe that me talking to him, that they finally put my car up on the rack and check it completely to find out now that it will cost me 300.00 to fix. I told the GM if they had fixed the problem the first time that I took it in I wouldn't be paying 300.00 now. Apparently the warranty does not cover and that's why I have to pay it out of my own pocket. They tried telling me that I SAID this and that. I told them I DID not say anything of the sort. I am not a mechanic, all I know is that something was wrong with my brakes and wanted it checked out.
I didn't realize that they will only check out what they think is wrong by how WE explain to them. I figured when I say to check my brakes they are going to check all of the brakes, not just a particular part of the brakes. That is so so lame.
