SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA -- There is a little sushi restaurant located on Bascom Ave. of San Jose California. This place is a little known restaurant called Kona Wave Sushi Bar and Grill.

This is my favorite restaurant in the world, and I hope to return one day.

Not only is the sushi plentiful, fresh, and delicious, but the staff are some of the most pleasant people you'll ever meet. I always leave as big of a tip as I can afford.

The sushi chef, Toshi, is very sociable and friendly, even though he clearly speaks more Japanese than English. He's always smiling and joking in disjointed English, and calling out very loud greetings in Japanese whenever a customer comes in. He clearly enjoys his job very much. The few times I went in when I was in the area, he greeted me every time, remembered me, and eventually, I started receiving little free salads with my orders. What a sweet fellow!

The waitresses were darlings. They were all cute, shy Japanese girls who spoke very softly, but smiled and occasionally made eye contact. This might have pissed some people off, but I found it didn't interfere with service, and in fact, it was pretty darn cute.

Al KWS needs is some hunky Japanese guys and I swear I will go every day for lunch, no matter what the distance.

Kona Wave Sushi Bar and Grill, you get five stars from me! Keep it up, I'll see you again someday!

The only raw fish I like is pickled herring.

I like the blind herring that is real salty...We used to find them on just about every street corner in Buffalo...but it's hard to find them here in Ohio.

mmmmmmm...pickled herring...I like fish in general; raw, cooked, pickled, salted, dried. Btw, squid jerky is pretty bomb.

We have sushi shops in Texas. Easy to find all along the Gulf coast. Big signs out front that read...BAIT SHOP! OTOH...I've had some outstanding tuna sushi. Slather on the wasabi with a dab of soy sauce. Wheeeee!
