Sears Complaint - New Stove Installation
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA -- I had a new Kenmore gas stove installed on Friday, April 10, 2009 by two very nice installers. That was the ONLY positive experience I received from Sears. While installing my stove, the installer claimed that I had a possible bad shut-off valve considering there was gas leaking all over the house. He said one of the nuts was loose and he was fixing it. Got it all tested for gas leaks, hooked up, burners, oven and broiler worked and they were on their merry way. Well, after going out for dinner, we arrived home to the house smelling of gas. I called the Sears store and was told by the appliance dept to shut off the gas and call One Source. I did just that and was assured that a tech would be there on Saturday and that I would be called in the morning with a time.
The nightmare begins...no call by 9:30 A.M. so I called the number and was told that there was no order showing for me to have service. IT IS EASTER WEEKEND!!!!! I HAVE 15 PEOPLE COMING!!! They contact the install dept who says they will submit an "forced call" since I smelled gas and someone would be there. I asked for a number to call in case I didn't get a call and was given the number of 1-800-579-2395. After an hour I called to make sure that I was on the schedule and a man told me that he just talked to a installer who was on a job, would be done in an hour and was 15 mins. from my house. Great.
Two hours later, no show and no one can give me any info. By now I am in tears, I have been dealing with these non-English speaking morons for hours and still don't have any straight answers. So I get the manager of appliances involved. As it stands now, I had to cancel dinner, and they are to come on Wednesday April 15, AFTER 5:00 because I refuse to take time off for their mistake. I have been assured by three different people that they will come when I am home, which is at 5:00.
All I can say is that it better happen. My entire weekend was ruined, not just for me, but all my family and friends who were invited to my house for Easter. We ended up eating deli ham sandwiches and potato salad. Thanks a lot Sears!
