SouperSalad Complaint - A Moth In My Salad Greens

Review by Amateras on 2009-04-13
WACO, TEXAS -- The one and only time I went to SouperSalad, in Waco, TX, was suppose to be a fun day out.

I fill up my plate with greens and vegetables, get a bowl of hot soup and sit down to enjoy myself.

I eat a few fork fulls of salad, loving the black olives and carrots, when I notice a long stem-like object sticking up from my salad. I pull it up and, low and behold, it is a moth!

What happened next? My man got up and told the manager, the manager offered us a free meal the next time we go in, lots of coupons, gave us our money back and said she was very sorry.

"Then what happened?"
Soupersalad added a 75-cent charge for extra meat.

In all seriousness, NEVER take a peek into your grocery store's produce prep area in the back. You should see the stuff they find in produce while they're cleaning it. Moths are far from the worst of it. (Think about a filled diaper in the bin of iceberg lettuce.)

We had an article a couple of years back about a bag of potatoes that a lady got at Walmart and brought in the house. She got busy putting up stuff and turned and looked around to find her baby sitting on the floor with the potatoes and a snake...playing with it. lol It was a harmless snake and the baby got his pic in the paper. :D

Snakes are REAL common in those big bags of snap beans. All sorts of 'fun' things are found in hand-picked crops. Seems the folks doing the picking have variable ideas about sanitation, and the hiring farmer cares less.

If you've ever seen a migrant worker stoop down in a bean field, you can be sure that the next time they stand up, they will have a smile of relief on their face..

Wild animals, illegals, and day laborers defecate and urinate in the farmer's fields. Nice.

Mama always got us to wash apples by claiming that they all had teetee on them. Yes, "teetee". :D

That's why I never drink water. I know what fish do in it.
