Experian Complaint - Misleading Web page - Credit Report/Credit Score

Credit Report/Credit Score - Complaint
Review by Kagan on 2009-04-13
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND -- I am so disappointed because I have been a loyal Experian customer for many years. I would routinely check my credit score with them on a semi-regular basis, paying the one-time fee each time. What happened this time was on their Web page I clicked on the "Get your credit & score" link, and it turned out that without knowing viola! They got me a membership for freecreditscore.com. I never asked for, nor intended to get a monthly membership. Their Web page is simply mis-leading, and the link to get a one-time score/report is hidden somewhere down on the Web page. It is a shame that a company who is supposedly there to protect you from scammers is trying to skim money from you through misleading information. It took me half an hour and a lot of frustration to cancel my membership with freecreditscore, having to jump through all the routine hoops when it comes to membership cancellation.

I really used to like Experian, but I won't ever deal with them again as they are a dishonest company as far as I am concerned.
