Roxio Photo Suite Complaint - No Rebate - Roxio PhotoSuite Platinum

Review by jackid5555 on 2004-03-31
WOOD DALE, ILLINOIS -- Last year I bought a Roxio PhotoSuite Platinum Edition program. It had a $15.00 rebate on it. I copied all information and sent in the rebate information, including the actual product i.d. They responded by saying the i.d. was wrong. How could it be wrong when I took it off the package with the rebate notice attached. I wrote and wrote to them, but they ignored it and never sent me the rebate. Don't buy the product. They will rip you off and care less. I had heard of companies who advertise a rebate and then never make good on them, but I thought this was a classier product. Boy, was I wrong!! Buy another photo program if you can. Don't buy Roxio.

Hi jackid5555, one suggestion I have is to always make copies. I'm anal about those rebates too, and get really upset if a company fails to follow through. One other thing I do is make my own checklist, and attach that to the forms that get mailed in, that way they see that I've already double-checked everything. Also, STAPLE STAPLE STAPLE!! Staple everything to everything. That way it's harder for them to lose it. Hope that helps a little, although not getting the $15 is a sore spot, I know. :)

Melissa's right, always make copies, including the original form with the processing centers's phone number, and follow up on them. Rebate turnarounds can be from 8 to 16 weeks, so it is easy to loose track. What most people don't understand is that retailers do not process rebates themselves but source them out to specialized companies. Probably why it takes so long and the reason you want to make sure you have that phone number.

Actually, I did make copies of everything I sent in, but that still didn't help. I even contacted the Attorney General's office. They wrote letters to Roxio, but Roxio ignored them. It eventually ended up in Texas when Roxio is located I guess. The Attorney General's office in Texas didn't do anything about it. I have actually digital camera pictures of everything in the PhotoSuite box, including the box and product id. All to no avail!!
