The Chimes International Complaint - Unfair Termination

Review by Anonymous on 2004-03-31
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND -- Chimes moto is "DEEDS NOT WORDS" IS CRAP. tHEY HAVE ALREADY SHOWN THAT THEY CAN'T BE TRUSTED.The owners Alan & Teri Perl live on the high hog while their employees are going broke, and x-employees for that matter. I was wrongly terminated from the company because of a new assistant comptroller who came back in November of 03 and has missed more time in 4 months than a person that has been there for years, Shawna is writing people up that has been there 10 yrs + and NEVER had a write up, and firing people that are good hard workers to bring in her friends. The Perls are to blind to see this nor do they care, They fire you and than won't even let you collect unemployment. If they treat their employees like this how do they really care for the disablied? Someone needs to set in and stop this.

In the state of Maryland an employer cannot block your unemployment benefits. When you apply they will contact your former employer and may impose a "penalty" but not completly deny all benefits

Right, they can't block your unemployment benefits, but they can dispute them. If you were denied, then the unemployment board must have ruled you were terminated with cause. File this under Disgruntled Employee.

It has been my experience that the unemployment board usually sides with the employee not the employer. You must have been terminated for a very good reason if you were denied unemployment.
