T-Mobile Complaint - Rebate Trickery
My daughter recently bought a phone with a $50 "rebate" offer. She was advised by the sales representative that "all she needed to do was submit this form along with the bar code to receive the rebate. She submitted all the necessary forms on time -- only to receive a letter informing her that she did not qualify for the rebate because on the new phones it is required that you purchase upgraded service to obtain the rebates. These additional services range from $120 - $400 a year in add on fees. This is not a rebate, but rather they should advertise it as "jack up your monthly phone bill even more with this phone special".
T-mobile is only a step away from the loan-sharking business. I don't know how they have side-stepped Consumer Generals or the Better Business Bureau - oh wait, yes I do know, that would be with lobbyists.
