Union Park Honda Complaint - No Service - 1996 Odyssey

Review by Billy on 2004-04-01
NEWARK, DELAWARE -- I purchased custom wheels for my 1996 Odyssey. When I took my van in for service, I was told that the service I requested could not be performed because I had purchased after market wheels and HONDA did not have the tools to take them off.I was told that if I did not have the orginal logs put back on there was no way HONDA could take them off. Needless to say the orginal logs would not have made a good appearance on my new wheels. I thought it was a joke, but it was not. Union Park Honda could not perform the service. I will never buy another HONDA product that I cannot get serviced simply because I buy an after market part.

Ok one or two things are happening here. One you have these new "spinner wheels" or two you have wheel locks on the rims, either case you need the "key" to remove the lugs. The "key" is a special tool especially for your lugs (just like your car keys) and should have been given to you when you purchased these rims and without this the only way to remove the rim is to break off the stud and nut causing damage to your rims. Your anger with Honda and the dealership is unjust and better directed at the place that sold you the rims for not providing you with the key. I would suggest high tailing it back to the place you bought the rims before you get a flat!

I'm with Dealer on this. They aren't Honda rims, so it isn't very fair to hold it against them because of a special removal tool. I would certainly go back to where you got them and say "hey, where the @#%& is the tool to take these off?!"

I agree about the nuts from Mars or Venus. Some of them post on this site...a lot.
