SAVANNAH, GEORGIA -- I purchased a loveseat from Rooms to Go and it was financed through GE Money Bank. I noticed that I had not received a card or any information on my account. I then noticed a name on my credit report which did not belong to me. Turns out that GE Money Bank somehow opened an account with my social security number under the incorrect name and mailed MY account information to the wrong address...all this after Rooms to Go sent them the correct information which I received a copy of. They had closed my credit card account without even calling me because they had the wrong address. Then when I called them to inform them of the incorrect name that showed up on my credit report I was told that I need to send that a photo ID to prove who I am before they could correct my name. When I asked to speak to someone else I was told that there was no one else I could speak to and hung up on.
I have never received such terrible customer service or come across a company with such terrible mistakes in my life. And they did not even try to correct the problem. The next time I finance a large item I will be sure that the company does not finance through GEMB first and if they do then I will make my purchase elsewhere.
