LG Complaint - LG's cheating on their warranty policy
We bought an LG portable DVD player last June 2008. A few months after, the power adaptor suddenly broke down, hence making the device unusable. We couldn't use the battery pack because we had to charge with the power adaptor. It was still under warranty, but the LG service center was a bit far from our home. But I finally went. I tried calling before going there but there was no answer except for their answering machine. When, I got there, there were only a few customers. I wonder, why no one's answering the phone (maybe the number linked to a call center)? Anyway, they told me the power adaptor was an accessory and was not covered in warranty? We didn't buy it separately.
So, what choice did I have? I didn't go all the way there for nothing; nor did I want the DVD player to be just lying around the house. Now, the new power adaptor also didn't come with a warranty, and at $37, it's not exactly cheap either. I'm never buying from LG again.
